Man United Set €25M Asking Price For Dalot
Manchester United would be prepared to sell right-back Diogo Dalot for €25 million if they are unsuccessful in negotiating a new contract, Sport claim.
Dalot has been in superb form for the Red Devils this campaign. He has started all 10 games across all competitions while chipping in two assists in the process.
The Portuguese has also made some vital defensive contributions and he is currently regarded as an automatic choice over Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.
Despite this, United still need to resolve his future. His existing deal expires in June 2023, but the hierarchy have the option to extend for another year.
The club have some time on their hands to negotiate a long-term contract, but Barcelona are reportedly hoping to capitalise on any uncertainty along the way.
Sport claim that United could sell Dalot for €25m in case they decide to part ways with him.
Selling Dalot does not make sense for Man Utd
Dalot has looked a different player under the tutelage of manager Erik ten Hag. He is beaming with confidence and recently scored twice for Portugal.
The 23-year-old should make the World Cup squad next month where he could build his reputation further if he is offered the opportunity to impress.
Considering his transformation of late, United should definitely prioritise a renewal for the ‘undroppable‘ star and Wan-Bissaka should be the one to make way.
United did not want to sell Wan-Bissaka this summer on a cut-price deal, but the hierarchy must come to acceptance that they won’t recoup the fee spent on him.
If they are looking for an upgrade, Wan-Bissaka should be offloaded to recoup some funds. It seems United may not spend on a right-back until next summer.
